Restriction

Why are there restrictions? Restrictions serve to impede our ability to fully carry out our actions. Restrictions can be good or bad. Rules and regulations are there to ensure that we abide by them and thus protect ourselves. For instance, safety rules at the work place or even on the road. This is a form of restriction being advantagous to us. However, sometimes rules can be really irritating. For example, we may have to follow proper procedures, which may take a longer time, to just get some documents authorised. Restrictions have many factors such as the place you are in, the people you are with and the things you work with. Different countries have different restrictions. Some countries may allow while others ban. The people you are with may impose certain forms of regulations or expect a certain code of conduct from you. The things you work with may carry its own risks, so again safety precautions are required. A person growing with too many restrictions is like a bird trapped in a cage, which may stunt his growth. Indeed, restrictions may be important. However, the person has to grow up knowing for himself the danger that he may face. With so much restriction, he may be too afraid to venture out of the safety zone, exploring his capabilities. Like the word itself, restriction carries a negative connotation.
