Synopsis:
Prince Nuala, exiled from the kingdom of Bethmora, has returned to take over the world. To achieve his goal, he broke the truce of humans and elves to gain control of the golden army, an indestructible force that was put to dormancy due to its immense killing power. To stop him, Hellboy, Liz Sherman (pyrokinetic), Abe Sapien (empath) are joined by the new leader Johann Krauss (ectoplasmic gas).
Review:
The CGI is very impressive, from the frenzy Tooth fairy attack to the gorgeous Earth element raging its fury. Of course, the creativity behind all the creatures (from the marketplace to the angel of death) must be recommended. However, I felt that the golden army is not given enough screen time to justify its strength and brutality. In my opinion, Hellboy isn't that powerful compared to his pyrokinetic girlfriend and ectoplasmic leader. Thus, there are a couple of times I felt that the plot should proceed differently.
