Synopsis:
Persepolis is about a girl's autobiography of living in Iran as she witness the Iraq-Iran war.
Review:
Although set in black and white, and with simplistic drawings, this should not undermine this honest animation. In fact, because it is set in black and white, the ideas were easily transmitted to the audience. I enjoyed this film as I felt that the film has many parts that I could relate to such as the growing phase and the adult phase. Other than the main character, another interesting character would be the grandmother. The grandmother is not one who comform to unpragmatic norms, but one who held her own ground especially in Iran, where males are supposedly more superior. It is no surprise then that this film won the special Jury prize and a must watch for people who go for content.
