Movie: Kung Fu Dunk (PG)

Synopsis:
Kung Fu Dunk starring Mandopop Jay Chou is about a 20 year old orphan from a martial arts school who was being exploited by businessman Eric Tsang to play basketball. Telling the media that he was finding his parents through basketball, Jay Chou is set to challenge a vicious and underhand team.

Review:
Watching this movie is like watching an extended music video of Jay Chou, with him being the lead, of course. This, being his third film, should have seen him improving his acting skills. But that is sadly not the case. For in the movie, his expressions were limited to the act-cool and act-dumb look. This is not to offend his plentiful fans, but he is better off singing, as reflected in the two songs for the movie. Luckily, there were veteran actors such as Eric Tsang and the other seniors that made this movie watchable. The storyline is silly, but I am sure many people watching this movie is watching Jay Chou.

Rating:
3/5
