@ Kko Kko Na Ra

It was around two years since S dropped by Singapore. She was craving for some Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) and we were glad to accompany her. There are a couple of good KFC outlets in Singapore, namely Chicken Up and 4Fingers, but there were not opened for lunch or not in the vicinity. Thus, we settled for Kko Kko Na Ra, another popular choice, at Tras Street. Singaporeans sure know their KFC as the restaurant was packed during lunch.

A pity that I forgot my camera and the rest of this post will be in words.

We ordered the large Chicken Combo Set ($35 for lunch) which came with six pieces each of original, sweet, and garlic chicken pieces. The original flavour chicken was crispy albeit dry while the sweet flavoured ones were pretty average. Our vote went to the garlic chicken lighted coated in soy sauce. It was flagrant, nicely balanced and not overly salty at all, unlike some of its counterparts.

We couldn't get enough of the chicken wings and further ordered a half portion of spicy garlic chicken ($15). Sad to say, they were less tasty with a manageable spicy kick.

We also got the Bo Ssam Special Set ($18) which consisted of a plate of very juicy steamed pork, a bowl of soybean soup chockful of seafood and vegetables, and a rice bowl. Wrapping those yummy bo ssam with vegetables and stuffing it into the mouth is a must-do. Really good as the pork just melted in the mouth.

The Hot Pot Bibimbap ($12) was very good as well as they were not stingy with their ingredients.

Korean restaurant are known for their banchan but this was not a strong point for Kko Kko Na Ra. While there was a variety of six different sides, they tasted rather lacklustre.

Overall, Kko Kko Na Ra was good and probably the top few for KFC.
