@ Gaest

Sunday is a time for relaxing brunches. Although I don't do brunches often, I was with E for brunch at Gaest, McCallum Street.

Gaest is a small café which serves Nordic sandwiches on freshly baked sourdough or Danish rye bread. Stepping into the café, you will realise that there are not many seats (maybe eight) and the décor tends towards the simplistic modern style. Truly Nordic indeed.

Homemade Elderflower & Rosemary Soda
(Quite a simple delight to quench the thirst)

Pulled Pork Sandwich
(Nice crackling and pork with contrasting apple and crunchy red cabbage)

Brunch Plate #2 - Sourdough bread with smoked salmon,
cream cheese, homemade hazelnut, and
homemade muesli with fresh fruits & Greek yogurt
(A very healthy and hearty set that is great for sharing)

Scandinavian countries are known for their open sandwiches and Gaest's daily baked bread was a true delight. With a menu that focuses on homemade dishes, it will cater to even the health-conscious palate.
