Day 2: Mainly Manly

Getting up from bed was always a difficult task and we took an hour before setting off. It's day two in Sydney and we have yet to cover the top ten attractions but we were going to Manly...

First sight of the icons

Arriving at Circular Quay, we saw the Sydney harbour bridge and Sydney opera house and started clicking our cameras away. However, the important thing was the ferry to Manly and off we went.

Interesting

Scenic walk

I supposed we weren't as young as we were and the scenic walk wasn't exactly scenic. LOL... Even though it's winter, the weather was really warm.

Manly beach

Due to the short daylight hours, we could not complete the scenic walk (thank goodness) and headed for the beach instead. It was funny to imagine us going to the beach in so many layers. Oh well, the wind was really chilly. Still, there were surfers about. Looking at them gave me the chill... Brr....

Night time

Photos of the opera house at night time. More shopping at the supermarket (this was becoming a habit).

Day 1: Scoot off to Sydney

Woohoo! Grad trip! And off to Aussie-land, where I can 'conquer' another continent. A pity R and A couldn't join us but it will be a fun trip nevertheless.

Pre-departure supper

As it was a budget flight, there will not be food (unless you buy) for 7 hours. Thus, we filled our body with processed food... Time passed quickly and it's time to board our scoot flight.

First impression was good and the seat was spacious. The service attendants were somewhat green but I wouldn't fault them since most of them were new to the job.

Scoot off

Touched down and half the daylight was over already. A quick checking in to our hostel (Eva's backpackers) and we were ready to explore Sydney. Before that, some snack from the loose change Macs menu.

St. Mary's Cathedral

Walking around, we saw this cathedral. I blamed it on the incompetent map but we couldn't locate the correct name. The funny thing was that the plaque was just behind us. Looked like R and A need not be here for us to be blondes.

Zi char for dinner

What's worse than getting lost. Well, getting lost without food. We had a hard time finding food and ended up eating zi char. Huge portions but highly salty. Afterwards, we concluded with the aunties' favourite activity: shopping in the supermarket...

Back

Woohoo! Back to the land where people wear beach shorts and the rain causes flood.
